While growing up, Dr. Gomez always had a passion for medicine. She has always been fascinated by the human body and how it works, and she believes she can impact a lot of lives by practicing medicine.

Experience

Dr. Gomez has worked as a house officer (junior doctor) for 2 years at the EFSTH, where she has had the opportunity to rotate across different disciplines of medicine.

There, she has taken part in the management of a wide variety of cases, including communicable diseases, non-communicable diseases, and tropical diseases.

She has also taken part in a number of volunteer activities like health caravans and screening programs for some health conditions in some of the most remote areas in The Gambia.

Education

Dr. Gomez obtained her medical degree from The University of the Gambia, School of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences. While in university, she was elected president of the medical student’s association.

While at medical school, she had the chance to organize and lead many activities within the association and beyond, such as health outreaches, fundraising events, and health sensitization programs on radio.
